St Patrick's orientation

Published: Wednesday 18th February 2015

It may be mid-February, however should there have been any doubt, we now know the year has started. Students have been enthusiastically attending orientation sessions, the Orientation Camp held in Bendigo and campus BBQs. St Patrick's Campus is a hive of activity.

Our newly opened cafeteria, with new caterers and a vastly improved selection of foods, is receiving positive reviews. Furthermore, the noise of residual capital works is coming to an end. A welcomed relief to staff of the Mary Glowrey Building.

Last week we conducted two induction sessions for new staff and I walked with them around the campus to share a sense of who we are, where we are located and where we are going. It is an opportunity to provide a tangible sense of the growth that we have experienced and the University's commitment to invest locally in the present and future. Our teaching spaces are predominantly clustered in, or around Fitzroy. However, the growth of ACU has seen us extend to leased premises for our research institutes, faculty and administrative functions. A key objective of the induction program is to open pathways to ensure our teams are connected locally and nationally.

We are looking forward to another busy and exciting year on our Melbourne Campus and multiple opportunities to celebrate our 25th anniversary.
