Ride2Work Day breakfast a success

Yesterday ACU Brisbane hosted a Ride2Work Day breakfast, and although the weather was not favourable, with ominous purple clouds threatening, around 20 cyclists attended. And there were many behind-the-scenes people who made it happen.

There were many support crew, some of whom deserve a special thank you:

  • ACU Brisbane and Professor Jim Nyland for financial support and hosting
  • Aileen Conradi,Executive Assistant to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Brisbane, for promotion to staff and arranging Kickbikes Australia to attend
  • Campus Operations staff for setting up and packing up of equipment
  • Melanie Seal Moradi and Nic Read from O.S.S. for heaps of support and organising assistance
  • Mitch Craig and Matt Cameron from Student Engagement and Services for support with organising
  • Lisette Bakker from Exercise Science for wonderful assistance in recruiting local business support
  • Michael Frost from Ascot Catering for supplying tons of fabulous food, Tim Blackmore for collecting it
  • Bakers Delight for supplying rolls and fruit buns, Peter Le Rossignol for collecting it
  • McASA for supplying and cooking pancakes (even in the pouring rain!)

  • M.E.R.Caitlin Ganter who offered a lot of assistance with who to contact to get the word out to ACU, Kristy Porter who assisted with local media publicity, Venetia Reynolds who assisted with design, and Caitlin McAtomney who assisted with publicising the event  to students
  • Exercise Science Students Jordan Siebenhausen and Joshua Mynott for providing free blood pressure checks
  • Faye Doyle for support and assistance over the past month
  • Mark Creaby for support and assistance over the past month
  • And of course, the School of Exercise Science Brisbane, DHOS Gert-Jan Pepping, and staff, for all of your support and contributions.
