Next Tuesday, 24 April, we will have an opportunity as a University community to stop, pray and reflect not only on the original ANZACs who served at Gallipoli and the Western Front, but also to commemorate more than a century of service by Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women.
May their sacrifice never be forgotten as we continue to cherish the freedom that they fought for. May leaders everywhere work for lasting peace, true justice and understanding among people.
All are invited to take part in your campus Commemorative Prayer Service:
Ballarat: 10:30am at the Flagpoles near Carne Brea
Brisbane: 10am at the Flagpoles beside the Peter Sheehan Building
Canberra: 10:45am in front of the Veritas Building
Melbourne: 10:30am at the Flagpoles in St Mary of the Cross Square
North Sydney: 10:45am at the Flagpoles in front of the Vice-Chancellery
Strathfield: 10:45am at the Flagpoles at the Main Entrance
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
