The ACU Faculty of Theology and Philosophy is delighted to be hosting a visit in July by the internationally-renowned, global authority on comparative theology, Professor Francis X Clooney SJ from Harvard University.
As part of the ACU Luminaries Series, and a wider program of events across our campuses, Professor Clooney will deliver a much anticipated public lecture at the ACU Strathfield Campus:
In this lecture, Professor Clooney will explore inter-religious learning – how different faith perspectives can engage and learn from each other while remaining faithful to their own beliefs and practices.
Within an increasingly fractured and divided world, an ability to learn about our own faith through relationships with others is a key focus of Pope Francis’ vision of integral human development. Professor Clooney will consider the question of how we might understand ourselves, and engage with our own faith traditions and perspectives, through learning from and in solidarity with others.
Professor Francis X Clooney SJ is the global authority in comparative theology. He is Parkman Professor of Divinity, Professor of Comparative Theology and Director of the Centre for the Study of World Religions at Harvard University. He is also a 2017 Distinguished Visiting Research Fellow in the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy, Australian Catholic University.
