Professor David Jasper, honorary fellow of ACU’s Institute for Religion and Critical Inquiry, featured on ABC Radio National’s The Spirit of Things last Sunday.
Professor Jasper, a priest in the Episcopal Church of Scotland and Professor of Literature and Theology at the University of Glasgow, was discussing where to find the sacred, and reflected on the writings of Australian novelist, David Malouf.
The Spirit of Things explores contemporary values and beliefs as expressed through ritual, art, music and sacred texts, and focusing on the nature of spiritual meaning in our lives.
Professor Jasper was in Australia as a collaborator on ACURF-funded Religion and Creativity Project led by Professor Kevin Hart, Professor Anthony Kelly and Dr David Kirchhoffer. He also delivered a keynote address at the recently-held Grounding the Sacred conference at ACU’s Strathfield campus, convened by Associate Professor Michael Griffith and Dr Elaine Lindsay.
