Pixel Prize exhibition opens this week
Published: Tuesday 11th October 2016
All ACU staff are invited to attend the annual Pixel Prize exhibition at the Brisbane and Strathfield Campuses this month.
The Pixel Prize is an annual photography competition open to high school students from Australia (New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland) who have a passion for photography.
ACU established the Pixel Prize in 2009 to foster and empower young people to engage in the visual arts.
Each year's competition is thematically based and prizes are awarded for: best representation of the theme, best image composition, most original photograph and digital darkroom (image editing techniques).
Focusing on the theme of ‘my generation’, the 2016 Pixel Prize encouraged students to show us what it is like growing up in the dawn of the millennium and the future that they walk towards.
The Brisbane Opening Night and Prize Giving Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 12 October at the Peter W Sheehan Gallery, ACU Brisbane Campus.
The exhibition will be open Monday to Friday at the Peter W Sheehan Gallery from 9am to 5pm until 28 October. You can find more details here.
The Strathfield Opening Night and Prize Giving Ceremony will be held on Thursday 13 October at the McGlade Gallery, ACU Strathfield Campus.
The exhibition will be open Monday to Saturday at the McGlade Gallery from 11am to 4pm until 29 October. You can find more details here.
ACU staff are invited and encouraged to visit the galleries during the exhibition and take in some of the wonderful submissions we have received this year.
The Melbourne Pixel Prize exhibition will open in November.
