ACU panel discussion on Indigenous hot issues
A panel discussion during ACU’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander week in early August 2015 will focus on “Where does Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People’s Empowerment Lie?” and is an opportunity for the University to create conversations around current topics that are of national interest. The event will feature Dr Cassandra Goldie, CEO, Australian Council of Social Services.
ACU works to increase knowledge and understandings around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s perspectives and increasing cultural competency by creating communication opportunities.
The panel will discuss Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s experiences of social, community driven and individual understandings of empowerment.
The expert panel discussion will feature Dr Cassandra Goldie, CEO, Australian Council of Social Services, Professor Simon Stewart, Mary MacKillop Institute for Health Research, Ms Vanessa Brunker, Bachelor of Social Work student, ACU.
The event will be held at Australian Catholic University, Moot Court, C1-09, MacKillop Campus, 40 Edward Street, North Sydney on Monday 3 August 2015, 4.00pm-5.00pm, however the even will be available through a video conference at:
