New admission to coursework programs policy and procedure
Published: Monday 7th March 2016
A new Admission to Coursework Programs Policy and Procedures has been developed and replaces the rescinded Admissions Policy and Admissions Rules. The policy and procedures has taken effect as of 1 March 2016.
The substantive changes to the principles and process incorporated in the new policy and procedures include the following:
- The Admission Rules and Admissions Policy have been rescinded and recast as a policy and associated procedures in line with the Policy on Policy Development.
- Transfer - students will be required to complete a minimum of two units in the course they were admitted to before they are eligible to apply to transfer. For some courses, identified in Schedule 2 of the Procedures, students will be required to complete one full-time year lof study which is equivalent to 80 credit points in the course they were admitted to, before they are eligible to apply to transfer.
- Deferment - the maximum period of deferment from mid-year 2016 will be 12 months which has been reduced from 2 years in the previous Admission Rules and Admission Policy.
- Use of plain English to improve readability.
