Who is this workshop aimed at? This two day workshop is aimed at all staff wanting to develop their knowledge about mental health issues and how to support others in their workplace, community and personal networks.
This two-day workshop will cover: The course teaches participants about mental health issues and how to assist someone who may be developing a mental health problem or who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. Content covered includes information about:
Depression (including suicidal thoughts and behaviours)
Anxiety (including panic attacks)
Psychosis (including responding to severe psychotic states)
Substance misuse (including crisis response to acute effects)
This course requires a minimum of 12 participants for this course to take place. Book immediately to ensure your attendance.
What will you gain from this workshop? Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of these mental health problems, where and how to get help for those who experience these issues, and what sort of assistance is effective. Participants will learn about the steps involved to provide ‘Mental Health First Aid’ which is the help provided to someone in distress until appropriate professional treatment is received or until the crisis resolves. Please note that full attendance for all sessions is required.
