Dr Stebbins will explore how Catholic institutions can remain faithful to their religious identity and heritage over time even in an environment characterised by rapid change, shifting social values, and relentless financial pressures.
About Dr J.M. Stebbins
J. Michael Stebbins, PhD, is Executive Vice President of Mission at Avera, a Catholic health care system, based in South Dakota. Having previously served as Director of the Gonzaga Ethics Institute, Gonzaga University and as Director of the Arrupe Program in Social Ethics for Business, Woodstock Theological Centre, Georgetown University, Dr Stebbins has conducted transformative programs in ethics and leadership. More recently he contributed to the development of the Catholic Identity Matrix, an assessment tool offered by the Veritas Institute at the University of St Thomas Opus College of Business in Minneapolis. The Identity Matrix is designed to help Catholic health care organisations evaluate the degree to which their Catholic identity shapes their operating policies and processes.
