Melbourne Pixel Prize exhibition opens this week
Published: Monday 14th November 2016
All ACU staff are invited to attend the annual National Pixel Prize exhibition at the Melbourne Campus this month.
The last exhibition for this year's competition, the Pixel Prize Melbourne Opening Night and Prize Giving Ceremony will be held on Thursday 17 November at the Melbourne Gallery, ACU Melbourne Campus.
The Pixel Prize is an annual photography competition open to high school students from Australia (New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland) who have a passion for photography.
ACU established the Pixel Prize in 2009 to foster and empower young people to engage in the visual arts.
Each year's competition is thematically based and prizes are awarded for: best representation of the theme, best image composition, most original photograph and digital darkroom (image editing techniques).
Focusing on the theme of ‘my generation’, the 2016 Pixel Prize encouraged students to show us what it is like growing up in the dawn of the millennium and the future that they walk towards.
The exhibition will be open Monday to Friday from 11am to 4pm until 24 November. You can find more details here.
ACU staff are invited and encouraged to visit the galleries during the exhibition and take in some of the wonderful submissions we have received this year.
