Institute for Social Justice Professorial Fellow, Professor Joseph Carens, has been awarded the 2014 David Easton Award his book The Ethics of Immigration (Oxford University Press, 2013).
This is an extremely important and significant honour for Professor Carens and we warmly congratulate him on this achievement.
Professor Carens’ research focuses on questions about justice, equality, and freedom in democratic communities. He is particularly interested in the normative issues raised by the movement of people across state borders and by ethnic and cultural diversity in all its forms.
The David Easton Award is given by the American Political Science Association for a book that broadens the horizons of contemporary political science by engaging issues of philosophical significance in political life through any of a variety of approaches in the social sciences and humanities.
