Visit to ACU by Pontifical Catholic University of Chile
ACU hosted a visit by Mr Patricio Donoso, Vice Chancellor of Economics and Management at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Mr Donoso was joined by Mr Christopher MacGuire, Director, UC Language Center. During the 4-day stay at ACU, Professor Donoso signed a Memorandum of Understanding between ACU and UC with Vice Chancellor Greg Craven and Provost Pauline Nugent. The new agreement outlines plans for our two universities to work together to support the development of UC’s English Language Centre in Santiago. The visitors also met with Professor Wayne McKenna, DVC (Research), and Professor Claire Wyatt-Smith, Executive Dean, Faculty of Education and Arts along with staff from the ACU English Language Centre to discuss joint English language programs, shared curriculum and reciprocal study abroad opportunities for students.
ACU International Partnerships webpage
The new ACU International Partnerships webpages are now live. These pages include an interactive world map of all ACU partner institutions. You can use the map to search for partners in a specific country and find out what type of relationship we currently have with each partner institution. You will also find an explanation of the different partnership models available, and advice about how to establish a new international partnership or host a visit by an international delegation.
New Australian Government Scholarships for ACU students to Study Abroad
We are pleased to announce that ACU has just been awarded 113 Australian Government scholarships valued at over $350,000 for ACU students who study abroad in 2015! These scholarships will support a range of pre-approved study abroad programs in countries such as Cambodia, France, the Netherlands, Thailand, Timor Leste, the United States, Vanuatu and Vietnam. To be eligible, students must be nominated by their faculty to undertake an approved student exchange, faculty-led study tour or professional placement program in these countries. Further information about the scholarship eligibility will be circulated in the coming weeks.
ACU International is also now accepting applications from the faculties for Australian Government-funded “New Colombo Plan” scholarships to support study abroad programs in Asia in 2015. Application instructions were provided to the Executive Deans earlier this month. Applications close Friday 5 September 2014.
