Successfully navigate the ethics approval process

Aimed at supervisors and research candidates, this ethics workshop will cover the essentials for successfully navigating the ethics approval process at ACU.

The workshop will cover:

  • The historical context and background of research ethics.
  • The ACU online (ORION) ethics application form, guidelines and processes, and timing.
  • Additional issues relating to research with:
    • children
    • Indigenous Australian people
    • organisations (eg schools and hospitals)
  • Ethical issues in research including:
    • risk and benefit
    • recruitment and consent
    • respect for persons
    • conflicts of interest

The workshop will be presented by members of the Ethics team and HDR supervisors are encouraged to attend.
