Published: Wednesday 18th March 2015

As many of you know, Vanuatu was this week hit by a Category 5 cyclone which has taken dozens of lives and destroyed most islands on the archipelago.

To assist with the emergency response and begin the process of rebuilding, donations of new and used goods (clean and in working order) are required. If you are based in Sydney, these items can be taken to the accommodation entrance of the Coogee Bay Hotel (9 Vicar Street, Coogee) until Sunday 22 March.

Items needed include:

  • Tarps, tents, pegs, ropes
  • Zip ties
  • Linen
  • Clothing
  • Toiletries, hand sanitizer
  • Tools
  • School supplies
  • Insect repellant
  • Torches, candles, matches
  • Batteries
  • Crockery
  • Utensils/cutlery
  • Pet food
  • Supplies for babies
  • Buckets
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Garbage bags (packets of unused)
  • Non-perishable foods (cans, rice, etc)

Items must be packaged in boxes and clearly labelled for customs and distribution purposes. Please do not package things in garbage bags.
