The PASS Program at ACU is part of a suite of support services offered by the Office of Student Success. The PASS program is a free, voluntary, academic support program that provides weekly small group peer-led study sessions to specific first year units to which PASS is attached and is highly recommended to all students wishing to improve their academic performance. It is also a great way to connect with other students and build a network of friends.
The PASS program is now being offered in 56 individual units in Semester 1 2018 across all campuses and across all faculties. PASS provides regularly scheduled, out of class ‘super group’ study sessions where students work together to consolidate key concepts and develop effective study sessions. PASS sessions are facilitated by PASS Leaders, students who have previously completed the subject and have achieved strong results.
Weekly, one-hour sessions usually consist of between 5-20 students. Sessions are not tutorials and therefore the leader does not offer answers to problems, but promotes a coordinated group effort to find the solution.
