Data Centre relocation

Published: Thursday 3rd July 2014

As part of the national network upgrade, the University's Primary Data Centre is being relocated to a co-host off site facility in order to increase the reliability and availability of IT services.

Significant planning has been underway for some months with our partners and service providers to ensure the relocation takes place with minimum disruption to services.

The target time-frame for the relocation is the weekend of 18 to 20 July, commencing at 6pm on Friday 18 July.

The physical relocation will necessitate an outage and as a result an unavoidable loss of access to some services. The plan is to have all services restored to normal operations before the commencement of business on Monday morning 21 July from 7am.

The relocation work WILL NOT affect the University’s web presence, staff email, student email, access to LEO and internet access.
