Professor Sandy Middleton, Director of the Nursing Research Institute has been awarded the prestigious NSW Health Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Award for Innovation-Research.
The ceremony was held at NSW Parliament House Thursday 11 September 2014. Health Minister Jillian Skinner congratulated 11 award winners and 22 finalists who were chosen from more than 150 nominees.
The Nursing Research Institute is a joint service of the Australian Catholic University and St Vincent's Health Australia Sydney.
In being presented the award, specific mention was made of Professor Middleton's work in leading large-scale translational research projects, designed to have meaningful impact on changing clinical practice and improving patient outcomes.
With research intensification high on ACU's agenda as part of our Future's Project, this is a wonderful achievement for Professor Middleton, the Nursing Research Institute and ACU as a whole.
