Changes to legislative requirements for international students
Published: Monday 18th December 2017
From 1 January 2018 the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students (National Code) 2018 will come into effect. This replaces the original National Code 2007.
ACU International has undertaken a compliance audit and the University will be compliant with the revised National Code.
The only significant change that will impact on international students will be the increase in the amount of online units that may be undertaken in a course.
From the 1 January 2018 international students may take up to 1/3 of their program online.
This change will still need to be taken into consideration with the other key enrolments requirements for international students which are:
Students must complete their program in the minimum course duration unless documented compassionate or compelling circumstances exist
Students must undertake at least one face-to-face unit in each compulsory study period
