The ACU Brisbane Rugby League side has emerged in 2016 as the team to beat in the Universities Rugby League Queensland (URLQ) competition. Under the guidance of newly recruited coaches, former Brisbane Broncos players Justin Hodges and Jharal Yow Yeh, the team has gone from strength to strength.

Consistent training on and off the field has seen the team climb from bottom of the ladder in 2015 to top of the competition in 2016. ACU Brisbane Rugby League has proven themselves as a real threat in the competition after defeating three time premiers Griffith University Logan Redbacks 28 – 20 in Round 6.

The ACU Brisbane campus oval has undergone extensive renovations including new lights, a grandstand and a refurbished pitch. The team conduct weekly training sessions on campus and are now able to host home games at the new facility.

The 2016 season has seen a change in momentum for the club. With new coaches, a new home ground and new recruits, the team is in good stead for finals.

The final home game of the season will be played at 7:30pm at ACU Banyo on Wednesday 31 August.
