Australian Catholic University's (ACU's) new campaign site, life-less-ordinary.org, received the prestigious CSS Design Award's (CSSDA's) Website of the Day award on Sunday 10 August.
The site beat contenders from South Korea, France, the United States, Russia, Japan and Britain and marks the launch of ACU's new 'A Life Less Ordinary' student recruitment campaign.
Every day of the year the CSSDA judges scrutinise submissions from web professionals in more than 200 countries on a quest to award and promote brilliant web design and uncover the world's best web designers.
The Frank Digital-designed life-less-ordinary.org website was launched in July, providing prospective ACU students with:
news about ACU's Open Days and events;
course and enrolment information;
profiles on students and graduates; and
links to further advice.
CSSDA judges awarded ACU's site an overall 7.9 out of 10, which was broken down to 8 for usability and content, 7.9 for creativity and design, 7.9 for code and functionality.
Judging criteria included high quality screenshots and accurate information, complete and fully functioning pages with no 'Coming Soon' pages or broken links, and original work only.
ACU's Acting Director of Marketing and External Relations, Chrissa Favaloro said the award highlighted the University's commitment to equipping prospective students with the information they need in a format they want.
"The campaign site features a modular design, which is easily viewed across desktop, mobile and tablet devices. We hope future students are inspired by our stories, and find all the information they need to start on their educational journey with ACU."
The life-less-ordinary.org site is now eligible for CSS Design Awards' Website of the Month and Website of the Year awards. The CSS Design Award can be found here.
