ACU pilgrimage to Italy 2014

Published: Wednesday 23rd July 2014

Owing to the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East, particularly between Israel and Palestine, ACU has decided to postpone its annual pilgrimage to the Holy Land for 2014. Instead, we will be leading a pilgrimage to Italy. This pilgrimage will explore the cities of Assisi, Florence, Siena, Loreto, Lanciano, San Giovanni Rotondo and Rome.

The 15 day guided tour, departing on the 22 November 2014, will visit important historical, religious and cultural sites. Participants will be given the opportunity to discover the Church's living faith, heritage and traditions, including the Renaissance masterpieces in Florence, Mt Verna of St Francis Assisi & St Claire, the Basilicas’ of St Catherine and St Dominic’s in Siena, the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel, St Sabina and St. Peter’s Basilica, ruins of many ancient places that classical and Christian Italy have to offer and much, much more. The group will also attend the Wednesday general audience with Pope Francis while in Rome.

Places are strictly limited and are open to all staff, students, family and friends of ACU over 18 years of age.
