North Sydney Campus staff are invited to attend the inaugural ACU Creative and Performing Arts National Showcase on 12 September in the Peter Cosgrove Centre.
The 2016 Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) showcases have taken place on each of the six ACU Campuses. The showcase has provided ACU students the opportunity to present and share their talents with the local community. The winners from each campus will now compete at a national level and will perform on Monday, 12 September at the North Sydney Campus.
The theme for this year’s showcase is “The Year of Mercy: The Ripple Effect”.
The national final has two components, first there will be a showcase of each the first place performance pieces from the local campus CAPA competitions. The performing arts categories for the local competition included dance/drama, music and poetry/spoken word.
Two national prizes will be awarded in the performing arts category. One first place prize of $1,000 and a runner-up prize of $500.
The second component to the CAPA final is the creative arts showcase. The local campus creative arts showcase was comprised of three categories, visual art, photography and short film.
The visual artworks and photography works will be on display in the foyer of the Peter Cosgrove Centre while the national first place short film will be displayed during the main program.
Two national prizes will also be awarded in the creative arts category, a first place prize of $1,000 and a runner up prize of $500.
