ACU Learning and Teaching Centre Conference
Published: Wednesday 2nd July 2014
The third ACU Learning and Teaching Centre Conference will be held on Friday July 11, 2014 in Sydney. There is no registration fee and the Learning and Teaching Centre is providing some funding to Faculties to assist with participation of interstate staff.
The Conference will include the launch of the newly developed Learning and Teaching Framework, a showcase of the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and valuable networking opportunities.
'Learning for Life' – the new Learning and Teaching Framework will transform the future of learning and teaching at the University and be rolled out over the next four years. The strategy encompasses teaching practice, student experience, curriculum development, research-led teaching and teaching facilities.
The conference is designed to promote and celebrate our teaching at ACU, explore the ways in which we use physical and virtual learning environments to enrich the student learning experience, reflect upon how we have enhanced and enriched our curriculum, and discuss how we can ensure our students leave us as ‘work ready’ professionals.
Dr Larry Johnson, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer, New Media Consortium will present the keynote address ‘From Good to Great’– a consideration of uncommon leadership in these uncertain times. He will be followed by Dr Panos Vlachopoulos, Senior Lecturer in Higher Education Development, Learning and Teaching Centre, Macquarie University presenting ‘Creating Learning Opportunities Beyond Spatial and Temporal Barriers’ – exploring how learning outcomes can be translated into learning designs that are fit for purpose.
The conference is open to all ACU staff responsible for delivering and supporting teaching at ACU. Registration is limited to 200 places and you will need approval from your Head of School or Unit Manager to register.
