ACU Foundation launches faculty prizes and awards online

Published: Monday 15th December 2014

Please check out the brand new webpages and browser. Not only will these online resources provide greater transparency for students and faculty regarding prize and award offerings, but faculty may now nominate recipients, revise and propose awards all online. Please take advantage of this new resource and submit your nominations for the 2015 faculty prizes and awards ceremony now. The deadline for nominations is 20 February 2015.

Each year faculty representatives nominate top academic and community service students to receive more than 100 faculty prizes and awards donated by supporters to the University. Student recipients, donors and faculty have an opportunity to meet each other, receive recognition and celebrate at annual scholarship, prize and award ceremonies hosted on each campus in late spring. Financial awards of up to $2,000, educational materials and association memberships are some of the valuable resources faculty prize and award recipients receive from valued donors. Please note scholarships are distinct from faculty prizes and awards as they are based on student applications which are coordinated by the scholarships office. Prizes and awards are faculty nominated.

Coordinated by the faculty and supported by ACU Foundation and campus Associate Vice-Chancellors, faculty prizes and awards are an important annual tradition at ACU. In the past faculty prizes and awards have been time-intensive to organise, but the new webpages and browser will centralise and streamline annual coordination, making processes easier for faculty. The online resources will create a visible hub and add exposure for prize and award offerings, process and history for students, faculties and donors. The webpages feature overview information including ceremony, recipient and donor and faculty contact details and the browser allows anyone to search prize and award offerings using easy to navigate faculty, campus and course filters. Each prize and award listed on the browser also features essential nomination criteria such as background, value, eligibility, donor and faculty contact.

Most importantly for faculty involved, these webpages will have a secure staff only view where faculty can use simple online forms to nominate student recipients, revise existing award details, and propose new awards.

Please spread the word about this helpful new resource to your faculties and students.
