ACU 2014 Teaching Development grants
Published: Monday 28th July 2014
The closing date for ACU Teaching Development grant applications is Friday 15 August 2014.
These grants are designed to support scholarship, program and curriculum development, and innovation in higher education learning and teaching. TDG are open to individuals or teaching teams (including professional staff) for projects designed to enhance student learning at the University. Grants are usually between $10,000 - $20,000. The Awards and Grants Committee (AGC) will not consider applications which are deemed to have a research-only orientation and which do not directly relate to the application of teaching development and innovation.
The grants have become more competitive in recent years and therefore staff are encouraged to plan their applications well before the submission date, and to seek advice and feedback from supervisors and peers during the drafting of their application. Applications will be assessed by the ACU Awards and Grants Committee.
The criteria for assessing the projects will be:
- Clarity and quality of proposal outcomes and approaches
- Perceived benefit to Australian Catholic University priorities as reflected in the Strategic Plan, Learning and Teaching Thematic Plan and the Learning and Teaching Framework, and transferability to other discipline areas/university-wide programs
- Detailed budget justification associated with project outcomes
- Likelihood of the project team achieving proposed outcomes.
