25 years of service: Dr James Cook

Congratulations to Dr James Cook, Lecturer, Literature and Language, who this week celebrates 25 years of service at ACU.

Dr Cook started at the University's antecedent institution, the Catholic College of Education Sydney in 1990, working at the Strathfield, North Sydney and Castle Hill campuses. He moved to the Brisbane campus in 2003.

Dr Cook has a wide variety of experience teaching over many years at these campuses. Among a diversity of units, Dr Cook has lectured in Japanese language, LOTE for Secondary Teachers, Asian studies, Australian studies, communication, sociology, regional studies, politics, theology and the core curriculum.

The field of his research is lifelong learning with a focus on later life learning (gerontagogy).

Dr Cook has felt privileged to have contributed to the development and growth of ACU over the past 25 years.
