In response to feedback received from academics, ACU’s Lecture Capture Solution underwent a series of upgrades/enhancements to better meet the needs of both academics and students in 2018.
From 2018 academics teaching in national units can save their specific class to a specific campus section. All national classes no longer need to be placed in the same section, allowing academics to display all their classes in LEO using a single link (without having to see all the other recordings at each campus).
Lecture Recording - Indicator Light trial at Brisbane Campus
During semester 1, 2018 lights will be installed in all lecture recording enabled teaching spaces on the Brisbane Campus, and subsequently rolled out to other campuses during Semester 2. These lights are used as a visual cue to indicate:
that the lecture is being recorded,
that the system is either in idle or in waiting to record mode.

Live Streaming of lectures
Lecture enabled rooms using the EchoPro Box, with a capacity above 50 seats, have live lecture streaming capabilities and classes can be viewed in real time by students. Please note that students cannot fast forward, rewind or pause during live streaming.
Live classrooms can also be streamed on mobile devices. When Echo360 detects a live streaming instance from a mobile device, it automatically buffers 40 seconds of the stream to ensure smooth playback. This means that students may experience a delay in the start of the stream and a possible lag from 30 seconds to a minute.
Students can access the live streaming option from the link provided in their LEO Site. The live class appears with a LIVE badge next to the class name.
If the class is underway, the LIVE badge is green and there is a green dot to the left of the class name, as shown in the image below. The lecture is still recorded in the normal way and available after the lecture.
