Over 100,000 students completed the 2013 UES, making it the largest ever survey of current university students in Australia. Results are compiled on a national level and for each university.
A random sample of current first and final year ACU students will participate in the survey. These students will receive an invitation and reminders, to complete the online UES questionnaire. The survey commenced 18 August and will continue in September.
The UES questionnaire comprises a battery of attitudinal questions regarding teaching quality, skills development, learner engagement and learning resources. All responses are confidential and no personal information will be linked to students’ responses.
Student awareness of the importance of the UES is being promoted. Teaching staff and other staff interacting with students may like to assist by encouraging students’ participation in the survey.
The data obtained from the UES will play a key role in the ongoing evolution of Australian higher education including at ACU, so I encourage you to support this important research.
The Department of Education has engaged Graduate Careers Australia and the Social Research Centre to work with universities to administer the 2014 UES.
