Education is changing, and students have a huge range of options and opportunities, providing them with more choices. ACU needs to remain innovative to ensure it continues to deliver high quality courses and services to our students. Let’s elevate the vision for our future and create this new vision with confidence to guarantee distinctive ACU graduates.

Six hallmarks of learning at ACU provide the framework for Learning for Life, ACU’s 2014 – 2017 Learning and Teaching Framework, to transform the future direction of learning and teaching at the University:

  • Distinctive ACU graduates
  • Excellent teaching practices
  • Excellent learning experiences
  • International, culturally diverse and equitable education
  • Research-informed teaching
  • Value and reward great teaching

These hallmarks support goals to be implemented across ACU which will ensure the University’s reputation for excellence in learning and teaching.

Wide consultation with academic and professional staff in 2013 and 2014 informed the development of the framework. Implementation will be managed through the Learning for Life Program Board, chaired by Professor Anne Cummins, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students, Learning and Teaching) in collaboration with the Provost, Professor Pauline Nugent, and the Program Strategies Group.

Responsibility will be shared across faculties and directorates who share in building and delivering ACU’s learning and teaching culture and environment.

The transformation of higher education is here, now.
