ACU Acknowledgement of Country and online Welcome to Country Protocols

ACU Acknowledgement of Country and online Welcome to Country Protocols

In line with ACU’s commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education, employment and research, we are pleased to announce that ACU has produced 'Acknowledgement of Country' cards which were developed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff within the SLT portfolio, with input from HR and Marketing teams.

The aim of the cards is to promote awareness of the 'Acknowledgement of Country' protocol and to encourage the ACU community to acknowledge country, and be comfortable in respectfully delivering the protocol.

In addition, the cards will be supported by online 'Welcome to Country Protocols' document which will clarify the differences between Acknowledgement of Country and Welcome to Country protocols and provide guidelines for their use. This document will be in a prominent part of the ACU web site.

We are very pleased with the finished product. The cards will be available from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander units on Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Strathfield campuses.

Please see the PDF version of the Acknowledgement of Country cards here. Should you have any questions please contact Jane.Ceolin@acu.edu.au or phone Jane on 07 36237735
