This guide will step you through how to submit a video assignment. There are different types of video assignments, so use this guide only if your lecturer has pointed you to this page.
Videos can be created in a number of different ways, such as using a video camera or your smartphone. Videos created in this way come as files that might have a .mov, .mp4, .wmv or .avi extensions. The type of file shouldn't matter. LEO also has some tools to help with video creation and management:
My Media Library can be used to upload videos into LEO, manage these videos and also provide simple editing features.
CaptureSpace is available in your My Media Library and can create screen, voice and webcam recordings.
With the steps below, either have your video file ready on your computer, or have it already uploaded into your My Media Library.
Log into LEO, navigate to your unit and click on your assessment submission link.
Click on the 'Add submission' button
In the Online Text submission option click the 'Embed Kaltura Media' button (the last button on the first row):
A popup window will appear which displays your My Media Library.
If you have already uploaded your video into your My Media Library, it will appear in your list of videos, skip to step 9.
If you need to upload a new video file into LEO, move to step 4.
Click the 'Add New' button and click the 'Media Upload' option from the drop-down menu.
Click the 'Choose a file to upload' button.
Select the video file from your computer that you want to submit.
The file will begin uploading. The status of the upload is shown as a progress bar. When the upload is complete, the status turns green and the message 'Upload Completed' appears.
Change the name and add a description if required. Click the 'Save' button, then click 'Back to Browse and Embed'.
For your video you wish to submit, click the drop-down arrow next to the 'Select' button and click on 'Large'.
On the following preview screen, click the 'Embed media' button in the bottom-left of the window (this can be hard to read):
You will be taken back to the Online Text box. The video name appears in a single line of text as a link in the text box. Click the 'Save changes' button to complete the assignment submission.
You should now see the video preview in the 'Submission status' section of the assignment link. Congratulations, you have submitted your video.
