Learning takes place wherever the student is. Part of the learning and teaching plan for the University (Learning for Life) is to "provide fit-for-purpose physical and virtual teaching and learning spaces" to assist that learning, and to ensure that, wherever they are, our students experience effective learning environments.
Classrooms, tutorial rooms, lecture theatres and other spaces are allocated by Timetabling. Your faculty's Timetabling Liaison Officer can help with any problems or queries.
If you need help with the computer or presentation equipment in a teaching room, you can call the IT Duty Officer.
Computer labs and their equipment are also supported by IT Client Services, who make an annual call to faculties for any specific programs to supplement the standard software applications.
The libraries provide multiple spaces for student learning, and stock adaptive technology such as screen readers and adjustable workstations for students with access needs.
The lecture recording system used at ACU is Echo360. Learn more about recording and editing recorded sessions from the Echo 360 ALP webpage.
The central online learning environment at ACU is LEO ("learning environment online"), which is a collection of educational technology applications integrated with a Moodle platform. See more about technology-enhanced learning
Practicums and work-based learning, including community engagement placements, provide our students with some of the most valued learning in their course. Experience-based learning gives students the opportunity to participate in work experience in all courses, whether in clinical or teacher placements, internships, volunteering, practicums and simulations.
ACU is a member of the Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN).
