Learning Environment Online

The new Learning Environment Online (LEO) will be fully implemented across all of ACU in Semester 1, 2012. There has been, and continues to be, significant effort by various stakeholders across the University to bring about this implementation which will ‘go live’ in Semester 1, 2012. This will wholly replace the present learning management system, Blackboard.

Some piloting will commence in Semester 2 this year. The faculties and Learning and Teaching Centre (LTC) are working together to ensure that all lecturing staff are conversant with LEO before the end of 2011. LTC is conducting professional development workshops during the second half of 2011 and is also developing online resources including guides, videos and walk-throughs. Along with the Faculty eLearning Coordinators (FeLCs) the faculties have identified eLearning Friends (eLFs) to work with and mentor other staff.

This is an exciting time for ACU as we position ourselves to join the increasing number of national and international universities using cutting edge but proven educational technologies and approaches to enhance the quality of our students’ learning.
