Japanese ambassador to visit ACU Strathfield

Japan's ambassador to Australia, His Excellency Shigekazu Sato, will give a lecture at Australian Catholic University’s (ACU) Strathfield Campus on The Soft Power of Japan – on Tuesday October 18.

His visit has been organised by Haruko Asakura, Lecturer in Japanese Studies at ACU’s School of Arts and Sciences.

"It is a great honour for the University to be hosting a diplomat of Mr Sato's stature, and now more than ever, Australians are interested in connecting with Japan and understanding the Japanese world view,” Haruko said.

“His address will be a wonderful opportunity for the local community, and ACU staff and students to hear about Japan's understanding of its 'soft power' from the most senior Japanese diplomat in Australia."

Mr Sato’s address is one of a number of visits by leading Japanese diplomats organised by Haruko, in a bid to strengthen ties and understanding between Australian and Japan.
