ACU Education appoints Professor of Leadership Studies

Professor Teresa (Terri) Seddon has been appointed as Professor of Leadership Studies at ACU's Faculty of Education. Professor Seddon joins ACU Education from Monash University where she was the Professor of Education. Previously she has served as an Associate Dean Research and as a panellist for the Excellence in Research Australia (ERA), Research Evaluation Committee.

Professor Claire Wyatt-Smith, Executive Dean for the Faculty said, “We are excited to have Professor Seddon on board. Her appointment is central to our commitment to renew our leadership programs, and develop programs which address the specific needs of our key stakeholders. Professor Seddon’s expertise will also enable us to significantly strengthen our research capability in the leadership field.”

Widely published in the area of educational policy and practice, Professor Seddon’s research interests focus on continuity and change in education and educational work and, on globalising education policy and governing capability development. She is also a fellow of the Australian College of Educators (ACE) and member of the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE).

Based at the Melbourne campus, Professor Seddon will commence in her new role in March 2014. Her appointment follows a number of other high profile appointments in Education including those of Professors Karen Harris, Steve Graham, Steve Elliott, Joy Cumming, Brendan Bartlett, and Associate Professor Clarence Ng.
