Environmental sustainability is a key part of the ACU Mission to promote the common good and social justice. The University recognises its responsibility to cut its environmental impact and place sustainability into its decision making, teaching and research.
The ACU sustainability team is part of the Properties and Facilities Directorate, and the sustainability program is guided by the ACU Sustainability Reference Group.
The University is committed to reducing its energy and water consumption by at least 7% by 2020, and increasing its recycling rate to 70% by 2020.
The role of the sustainability team is to reduce the environmental impacts of University operations, to gather data on the University’s environmental impacts and to engage students and staff in ACU’s sustainability initiatives.
