Maintenance of existing building assets and materials is predominately undertaken by specialised service providers under a performance based service agreement. Maintenance log sheets, records and service data are reviewed on a monthly basis by both the local Facilities Managers as well as the Directorate.

Key major maintenance service contracts include:

  • fire equipment
  • air conditioning and heating
  • electrical
  • building compliance.

All minor maintenance services are managed locally by the Facilities Manager and include such services as:

  • vertical transportation
  • building
  • painting
  • masonry
  • automatic doors
  • landscaping.

Maintenance servicing is performed outside of key academic teaching hours where possible to reduce noise and interruptions.
