Development and Major Projects

The Development and Major Projects (DMP) team provides project management services where capital funding is sought to scope, define, justify, develop and deliver ‘renewal’ or ‘new build’ solutions across all ACU campuses.

To ensure alignment to ACU’s Mission and values, the solutions address four key ACU environments:

  • business
  • physical
  • virtual
  • spiritual.

What we do

We act in two key roles:

  • To manage the delivery of major projects from end to end. In this role, we look to procure and manage professional project management organisations and other external consultants to form a cohesive team under the supervision of a Project Control Group, which is convened once capital funding has been approved.
  • To deliverer fit-out and new build projects from $50K onwards, often with the assistance of the Facilities Management team for projects under $250K.

Please note that we operate as a Project Office undertaking both the management of the overall portfolio of current and future projects, as well and the delivery program of specific projects in accordance with the policy and procedures provided in ACU’s National Project Management Guidelines and Project Management Framework.

Team structure

Each state based DMP team is headed by a Senior Project Manager and supported by a team of project professionals, all of whom can assist you to translate a business need for space into solutions that are justified and funded.

When to engage us

Please contact your local DMP team to discuss any matters where you believe that a physical solution is the best way to address an upcoming business need for change.  The local DMP team will help you better define the need for change and the value to the University, which is the first step in defining what is required, its relative priority and how much funding is needed.

Our service-delivery standards

The Project Office is a centre of excellence as measured by industry best practice standards. We strive to promote a professional project management approach in a unique university environment while delivering value for money solutions on time, on budget, fit for purpose and quality aligned to standards. All project teams are required to adhere to the relevant safety and environmental standards specific to their locations.
