Invitation styles vary according to the type of event, purpose and the guests that you wish to invite. Invitations must follow the Brand Guidelines and ensure all information including spelling, titles and post-nominals are correct. A standard invitation template can be adapted below for most events.
Click here for a standard invitation template. Please note that this invitation template can be used for email invitations only. If you wish to post invitations, you can add text, however you will need to have this professionally printed.
If you require a different invitation style, please complete the Creative Design Brief and send to Tina Koudsy, Traffic Coordinator, email@example.com. Note that invitations which are not of a standard size will incur additional envelope and postage charges.
Invitations should include:
Name of the event
Host of the event
Date and time of the event
Location and venue with address and a map (if possible)
RSVP date (contact phone and/or email address)
Parking or public transport information
Dress code (if applicable)
Request for special meal requirements (if catering is being provided)
Graphics (if this suits the event type)
If the invitation is hosted by the Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor, the invitation will require pre-approval from the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and President (OVCP). Refer to Event Protocols (Section 3.3) for more information.
Well organised events can fail if the invitations do not go out on time. Don’t underestimate the time it takes to have the invitations designed, approved, printed and sent out. Use the Event Management Checklist to assist with this process.
