Evaluation of Learning and Teaching

The LTC provides the following evaluation programs:

1.  Learning and Teaching Evaluation Program (LTEP)

The Learning and Teaching Evaluation Program (LTEP) is designed to provide student feedback on units to academic staff. It involves the use of a customised unit evaluation instrument. This instrument includes items selected by the lecturer from an Item Bank that has been developed by the Learning and Teaching Evaluation Committee.

If you wish to be involved in the Learning and Teaching Evaluation Program (LTEP), you will need to read the Instructions for Participants and then complete and submit the Request form, by the relevant closing date (see list of dates below).

2.  Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET)

The Student Evaluation of Teaching involves the use of a questionnaire with 15 items. The lecturers have the opportunity to add up to 5 additional items (see SET Instructions). The questionnaire is designed to gather students' perception of the quality of the participating lecturers' teaching.

Data gathered through this questionnaire may be used to support lecturers' applications for promotion, and performance or probation review, along with individual professional development.

3.  Field-based units Evaluation Program (FBEP)

The Fieldwork-based Unit Evaluation is designed to provide student feedback on fieldwork-based units to academic staff. It involves the use of an instrument with 12 core items.
