Currently staff across ACU are using different desktop versions of Lync and Skype for Business applications—and some may not have Skype for Business at all.
IT is standardising Skype for Business/Lync desktop software by upgrading all staff to Skype for Business 2016 in early June.
Skype for Business will be rolled out across ACU campuses on the following dates:

The meeting icons that appear in Outlook will look different if you have Office 2010 and 2013. There is no change for Office 2016 users, it will remain the same as before.
Staff who currently use Lync will be upgraded to Skype for Business 2016, the meeting icon will change from ‘new online meeting’ to ‘New Skype meeting’.
Office 2010 and 2013 users
For staff who use Office 2010 and 2013 your Outlook meeting icons will look different. If you use Office 2016 the New Skype Meeting Icon will remain the same as before. Office 2010 Users
