ACU Portable Video Conferencing

Overview

This service is used to provide communication via video for 2 or more participants in nominated areas where there is no dedicated video conferencing system.

Depending on your requirements, these units can connect to video conference enabled meeting and lecture rooms and connect to web based clients such as Skype or Adobe Connect.

ACU Polycom Dual Screen Portable Units

(High Quality Recommended for Video Conferencing)

These units provide a High Quality video conference experience for meetings and lectures.

Each unit has two 50’ – 55’ inch screens to allow greater viewing angles.

Audio Visual Services recommends that these units are only suitable for meetings and class sizes for up to 20 people.

ACU Mondopad Single Interactive Screen for Collaboration

(High Quality Recommended for small group Web Conferencing and collaboration)

These units can connect with Skype, Adobe Connect, Google Hangouts and other web based clients. The Polycom Desktop client can also be activated to connect with ACU’s current video conference enabled rooms.

These units have one 55’ – 70’ LCD screen, speakers and a high definition fixed camera.

Audio Visual Services recommends that they are suitable for small group video conferencing and collaboration of up to 5 people.

ACU Mobile Collaboration Units (MCU)

(Collaboration units that only provide Low Quality Skype style Desktop Web Video)

The ACU MCU’s are not recommended for Video Conferencing, these units are flexible and whilst provide a solution for the functions listed below they provide a less than satisfactory Video Conference experience for users.

  • A presentation screen for small groups
  • A large screen computer for collaboration in small groups
  • A Digital Signage Unit.
  • Skype and Adobe Connect style web conferencing for a small group.

Locations

Audio Visual Services and the ITSS local teams locate these units in areas where they can provide a high level of availability and function effectively.

Unfortunately due to the technology used for these units and their physical size they can only be moved into rooms on the same floor of buildings that they are located in.
