Main offer rounds across all states took place this week and 2017 cut-offs will be released shortly.

The following courses will not be opened for further offers:

VIC: B Midwifery in Melbourne

QLD: B Midwifery

PLEASE NOTE:

Bachelor of Paramedicine in North Sydney: There are 30 offers being made to UAC applicants for this course. In their offer letters, these applicants advised to respond to their offer within 7 days, after which their offer will be lapsed. The deadline to respond will be COB Friday 27 January.

This will allow us to track enrolment and possibly make further offers.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy in Queensland:

ACU has experienced a significant increase in the number of first preferences (32.8%) in 2017 for Physiotherapy compared to 2016.  As a result we have made a total of 105 offers to date through QTAC for the Bachelor of Physiotherapy for a limited number of places.

Limited availability of Physio placements means we have to be very strict with the number of offers made into this course; similar to Midwifery, Nursing and Paramedicine.

Accreditation requirements with the external body means we must be strict in regards to the number of students we accept in these courses.

In addition, there has been a marked improvement in the quality of the applicant pool for this course hence some people with high scores have not been successful in gaining an offer to date.

Acceptances of offers continue to be monitored and further offers will be made in upcoming offer rounds.

TRANSFER PROCESSING

Processing of transfer requests has been completed for the majority of students who submitted or advised Admissions of a change to their request by early January.

Successful students have been transferred to their new course/campus with their current enrolment.  They can then amend their enrolment to reflect their new course if required.

Unsuccessful students have been advised why they were not able to be transferred either due to their relevant rank being too low or not meeting the required prerequisite studies for their new course.

Late requests and transfer reversals are now being attended to.

Any student (other than late or reversals) who is still awaiting an outcome regarding their transfer may be awaiting the outcome of their response to a Show Cause letter or, awaiting a final unit grade.  Admissions cannot finalise a student’s transfer whilst a show cause sits against the student’s record.  Schedule 1 courses required students to complete 80CP of study in their current program and so final grades must be determined before an outcome can be made.

Any late requests for transfer must to be submitted via email to admissions@acu.edu.au with supporting reason for the late submission from the relevant Head of School.

REMINDER – ADMISSIONS WEEKLY TEAM MEETINGS

Please note that Admissions will hold their next fortnightly team meeting from 10:30 to 11:00 am on Wednesday 8 February 2017. Anyone trying to contact us during this time will need to leave a message and we will reply as soon as possible.
