Handbook 2016 – Update to Admission Requirements

All courses within Handbook 2016 have had their Admission Requirements section updated to reflect the impending introduction of the new Admission to Coursework Program Policy (effective 1 March 2016). As a result, all 2016 courses now contain both the outgoing statement as well as the incoming statement, as shown below:

Prior to 1 March 2016, an applicant must also comply with the Admission Rules.
From 1 March 2016, an applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

AHEGS Course Accreditation Update

All teacher education courses have had their accreditation details updated in the SZAAHDA screen in Banner to reflect the national accreditation body, Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership.

Course Progression

Updates for live courses in have commenced this week for the 2016 Academic Year, with updates being made by Helen and Lesley starting with updating of Majors as required. Updates for Minors and Courses will follow in the coming weeks.

We are running training for ad hoc requests by Faculty staff for Course Progression. We generally require that Faculty staff receive training before their access is granted. So far we have received positive feedback and are glad that Faculties are finding Course Progression a useful tool to monitor students’ progress.

Website Accessibility Audits

Accessibility audits of the public, Staff and Students website were undertaken by Vision Australia at the request of Web Services.

These audits provided recommendations that are being implemented so that all sites are more compliant. As a result, IRM is reviewing all web pages under our jurisdiction and updating any pages/content to meet these recommendations.

Important Reminders

Work Requests
When submitting work requests, please use the IRM Work Request Form and ensure that the wording complies with the Student Administration Style Guide located in the All Student Admin section of Knowledge Manager.

Student Connect Noticeboard
Changes to the Student Connect Noticeboard should also be submitted via the IRM Upload Request form. Please remember to visit the noticeboard regularly to ensure it stays current.
