TIMETABLING

And they’re off, the Web Data Collector (WDC) is open for data entry for semester 1 2017!

Thank you to the TLOs that have taken the opportunity to start their timetabling requests for 2017. Three databases will be open for the entry of class, staff and programme data that will guide scheduling processes for TE&R.

Our team will be employing a new system to analyse the class information that is entered into the WDC, this will help improve service and the clean-up process of unit codes etc.

There has never been a more exciting time to submit your data to TE&R.

All timetables are now available using the 2016 Online Timetable link.

Important Dates

18 August Final Semester 2 timetable changes due midday
19 August Tutorial Direct converts to Read Only mode
19 August Phase 1 WDC – Modules, Templates and Activities – closes at 4pm
26 August Phase 1 ECP – Programmes of Study – closes at 4pm
9 September Phase 1 RDM – new staff and staff availability – closes at 4pm
26 September WDC opens for Summer 2017 and Professional Terms 1 – 4 requests
10 October Semester 1 2017 Draft Timetable published to staff

Students have now allocated to classes for Semester 2. Any changes made to the timetable will therefore have an impact on them. Change requests must be kept to a minimum.

All requests for changes to the 2016 Semester 2 Timetable must be submitted to Timetabling via the School’s TLO. Draft changes are due by midday, Tuesday 14 June.

Requests received after that time will be treated as Provisional Timetable changes and are subject to different and more stringent conditions under the University’s Timetabling Policy and Procedures. All change requests at the Provisional stage require a reason for the change to be provided on the Change Request Form (CRF) and also require the approval of the HOS/DHOS unless the change is:

  1. to staff allocated to an activity that does not impact any staff member’s allocated teaching timetable;
  2. to the location required due to unexpected surge/decline in student numbers;
  3. a same day, same time swap of location to accommodate an unexpected surge/decline in student numbers;
  4. the deletion of booked space no longer required;
  5. the addition of a repeated activity, justified by enrolment numbers.

Please note:
Timetabling staff members hold a weekly team meeting every Tuesday afternoon between 2pm and 3pm.
