INFORMATION RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (IRM) SECTION

Course Progression

Scribing for Phase 4 of the Course Progression Project (CPP) has begun. This phase will include the balance of Undergraduate courses that have not yet been scribed and any outstanding courses from previous phases that have yet to ‘go live’.

Course Coordinators List

A request has recently been sent to all Faculty Executive Officers (FEOs) to provide IRM a current list of Course Coordinators. Once received, the information will be stored in a location (most likely a library within SharePoint) that can be accessed by both Student Administration and FEOs, with the intention that the list will be continually updated from that point onwards. Watch this space for more information as it comes to hand.

Course Browser and Handbook 2016 - Go Live

From Wednesday 5 August, the Course Browser began displaying the 2016 courses.
Many thanks to the Web Services team for enabling this transition to happen with minimal disruption to both staff and prospective students.

Please note that when viewing a 2016 course within the Course Browser, there is no longer any reference to the year within the URL (eg Bachelor of Nursing is http://www.acu.edu.au/courses/undergraduate/nursing_and_midwifery/nursing/bachelor_of_nursing).
If you find links anywhere within the website that display courses with “2015” in the URL, please advise the IRM Section so that the issue can be rectified as soon as possible.

The 2016 Handbook is now live and can be found via the Handbooks page.

The IRM team have now finalised the quality checking of the Course Browser and Handbook for 2016, working towards a more consistent style and formatting to ensure data integrity.

We have also endeavoured to ensure that every Handbook 2016 page complies with the accessibility requirements as per the following item.

Students Website Accessibility Audit

As well as completing an accessibility audit of the Students website, Vision Australia has also completed an accessibility audit of the public website at the request of Web Services. IRM team members attended a teleconference this week where the results of the audit were discussed.

The audit provided some recommendations that should be implemented so that the public site is more compliant. As a result, IRM will be reviewing all public-facing web pages under our jurisdiction and updating any pages/content to meet these recommendations.

In addition, IRM is continuing to update Student Administration webpages within the Students site.

Course Coordinators Manual

The annual update of the Course Coordinators Manual for 2016 will commence next week.
This task will be finalised by Friday, 11 September.

Many thanks to the key stakeholders for providing their changes to IRM in a timely fashion.

ACIR Undergraduate Courses

The annual update of the ACIR (Australian Course Information Register) website to reflect all undergraduate courses being offered by ACU in 2016 has commenced next week. This task has to be completed by Friday, 11 September. ACIR is the home of publications such as “The Good Universities Guide”.
