INFORMATION RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (IRM) SECTION
On Tuesday, 4 August, the Course Browser is expected to begin displaying the 2016 courses. In order to make this happen, Web Services have initiated a support request with Squiz to be actioned at 10am on Tuesday. Once the request has been actioned, the Course Browser will gradually display the 2016 courses, but there may be delays due to caching issues related to our proxy servers.
Once the Course Browser has gone live with 2016 course data, the 2016 Handbook will also be made available via the Handbooks page.
On behalf of the entire IRM team, I would like to thank all faculty staff and key stakeholders who have contributed to the provision of the 2016 data. I would also like to thank the IRM team members for their dedicated effort in ensuring this milestone will be achieved.
The updating of all Course Browser and Handbook content for 2016 will be finalised by Tuesday. We are still waiting on some final updates/amendments from the Facilities.
The IRM team are quality checking the Course Browser and Handbook for 2016 and are working towards a more consistent style and formatting to ensure data integrity.
As we progress through our updating, we are endeavouring to ensure that every page, irrespective of whether or not there are any updates, complies with the accessibility requirements as per the following item.
Vision Australia recently completed an accessibility audit of the Students website at the request of Web Services. IRM team members attended a teleconference where the results of the audit were discussed.
The audit has provided several recommendations that should be implemented so that the Students site is more compliant. As a result, IRM will be reviewing all Student Administration web pages over the coming months (as time permits) and updating any pages/content to meet these recommendations.
To commence this review, the IRM team is incorporating this into the current update process for the 2016 Handbook and Course Browser pages.
The 2016 Course Cost database work was finalised on Monday, 27 July, whereby all indicative first year costs will be entered into SZACIDF and SOZCINF screens in Banner for government reporting purposes.

When submitting work requests, please use the IRM Work Request Form and ensure that the wording complies with the Student Administration Style Guide located in the All Student Admin section of Knowledge Manager.
Student Connect Noticeboard
Changes to the Student Connect Noticeboard should also be submitted via the IRM Upload Request form. Please remember to visit the noticeboard regularly to ensure it stays current.
