INFORMATION RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (IRM) SECTION
The Course Browser opened for mid-year admission on 1 April.
As a result of a mid-year marketing campaign, the Course Browser is currently being restructured. Once finished, new Discipline and Study Area level pages will exist and these pages will not only contain links to individual course pages, but also hold important marketing information to attract more students.
Handbook and Course Browser 2016 Cycle
The Handbook and Course Browser faculty files have been prepared for the 2016 cycle and are availablae for faculty staff to commence making all approved updates. The due date for completion of these updates is 12 June.
Stakeholder files have also been prepared and emails sent to relevant staff to advise them to make any necessary updates for 2016. The due date for these changes is also 12 June.
As mentioned last week, all Unit Descriptions have now been entered into the SCADETL screen in Banner. The benefit of having unit descriptions stored in Banner (currently in the CMS) is that the same description can be drawn into both the handbook unit description pages as well as Course Progression.
Meetings have now been held with Systems, IT and Web Services staff, to develop a process so that the descriptions can be displayed in the handbook. It is anticipated that this will be up and running in time for the release of Handbook 2016 in August.
Student and Staff training videos have been updated to align with the new way that student audits are presented, and are currently being proof-checked before being uploaded to the website. As mentioned last week, the new presentation style has now been applied to all courses in the “live” PROD site from 2013 onwards.
Work is well underway to display the Unit Information in the TEST site, when viewing a student’s audit. The information contains not only the unit description, but the unit offerings that have been set up in Banner (including the seats still available).

Changes to the Student Connect Noticeboard should also be submitted via the IRM Upload Request form. Please remember to visit the noticeboard regularly to ensure it stays current.
