Course Progression Project

Course Progression went live on Monday 26 May for those staff who were trained during Phases 1 and 2 of the project, and where the courses they are associated with have been “signed off” as complete. Students enrolled in these courses will be granted access to Course Progression in late June, via a link within Student Connect.

Further Information Sessions have now been given to additional staff from the Faculties of Health Sciences and Theology and Philosophy.

Phase 2 of the project has closed and we are still waiting for the remainder of the testing feedback for a number of courses.

The Course Progression web page includes links to important information including:

  • the project overview;
  • pilot participants listing;
  • frequently asked questions;
  • user guides;
  • a video tutorial; and
  • an online feedback form.

The majority of issues raised from the Phase 1 Course Rules Analysis and Student Audit Testing feedback have been addressed. These changes have been made in the new test environment. Accounts for Faculty staff have been set up in this new environment where they are able to review their requested changes for acceptance and sign-off.

If there are any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact the Course Progression team.

EF&S, Student Centre and IT Service Desk staff have now been trained in Course Progression, should they receive any questions from students and/or staff, once the application is released.

2015 Course Browser and Handbook

IRM is to commence the updating of 2015 Course Browser content next week. Once finalised, we will then move onto the updating of 2015 Handbook content.

Course Browser updates were due on 2 May 2014, whilst the Handbook (Course Rules) updates were due on 16 May.

Stakeholders have also been provided with the documents relevant to the General Information section of the Handbook. These documents are due back by Friday, 13 June.

Hub Community Engagement Committee

It was decided by Managers in the Hub to pool resources and work together for one chosen cause. In 2014, the chosen cause is ‘homelessness’. The Hub Community Engagement Committee was formed in April 2014 with the following members:-
Helen Ward, IRM (nominated spokesperson)
Catherine Thompson, Admissions
Agnes Kil, Examinations & Results
Elyse Flavel, Student Centre

Although the group is in very early stages of organisation, we have held our first community engagement activity to raise funds for the Order of Malta, Brisbane, “Coats for the Homeless” campaign. THANK YOU to everyone who supported this event by assisting with organising, catering, making donations and, of course, enjoying lunch!!

We are very pleased to report that we raised $200 which will allow 6 homeless persons to receive one of these specially designed, warm, weather-proof coats – just in time for winter!

We would like to hear your ideas for community engagement activities, especially if you have links to, or know of, organisations in the surrounding suburbs that work with the homeless. Please contact any of the committee members.
